Yes, GAFilk is a relaxacon, but we have one track of enjoyable programming and several on-going events to engage your creativity and promote our Suthu'n Hospitality. We're still working on some special logistics to keep our guests happy and healthy (and relaxed, of course), so here's a tentative programming schedule for GAFilk 2008:

FRIDAY Event Description / Participants
4:00 pm Dealers' Room and
Consuite Opens
Dealers' Room: Crawford Room
Consuite: Private Dining Room
6:30 pm Dealers' Room Closes
7:00 pm Opening Ceremonies

New Year's Champagne Music Makers' Toast

(Somebody turn on-a the bubble machine-a...) Put on your fancy dress! We're clinking glasses and singing in the New Year. It's amazing how well we gussy up in our silks and satins, sequins and cummerbunds, top hats and tails. The champagne overfloweth, and toasting runs the gamut from traditional to hilarious.
8:00 pm "MY FILK"
Panel Game Show
With Rob Wynne "in the chair", we divvy up our guests into two sides (Team 1 and Team B) and test their vast knowledge of filky lore. Favorite games include Puns and Parodies, and What's the Preceding Line?. The last round of the game features an Instafilk written and performed on topics selected at random from audience suggestions.
9:00 pm Concom's Choice  Tom Smith.
10:00 pm Open Filk We sing and sing and sing...
SATURDAY
3:00 am Consuite Closes

GAFilk Quilt

Every year we hold a quilting bee at the con under the direction of multi-talented Margaret Middleton. Sewing machines and supplies will be set up outside the Registration Area, but feel free to sit in the main programming room and stitch to your heart's content. The final product is raffled off at the Interfilk Auction with proceeds going to Interfilk. Click here for more detailed information on THE Quilt.

3:00 pm 2 x 10s GAFilk's a relaxacon, so we don't schedule a lot of concerts. And there's going to be plenty of singing in the open filk. But if you've got a couple of songs, or a great story or a piece of poetry that you really want to show off, then sign up for a 2 x 10. You can perform two songs or take up 10-minutes...which ever is shorter.
